Honest Travel Advisory
Who this Unseen Kashmir: Gurez & Keran Valley itinerary is NOT for
- •Border Permits & Mandatory Photo ID: Gurez and Keran are sensitive border areas along the Line of Control. Indian citizens must carry original government photo ID (Aadhaar Card or Voter ID) at all military checkpoints. Foreign nationals face restrictions near the LoC and cannot visit without prior divisional commissioner permission.
- •Authentic Rustic Accommodations: Luxury 4-star and 5-star hotels do not exist in Gurez or Keran. Accommodations are authentic wooden homestays, simple family guesthouses, and eco-camps with clean beds, warm quilts, and home-cooked Kashmiri food.
- •Connectivity & Cash: Only postpaid BSNL, Airtel, and Jio connections work intermittently in Gurez and Keran. Mobile data is limited or absent. Please carry adequate cash as ATMs are rarely operational in border hamlets.
If any of these apply to your party, speak to us and we will adapt the route.
